This piece features the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen — a quiet yet iconic symbol of the city, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale. Despite its modest scale, the statue draws immense crowds, becoming one of Denmark’s most photographed and visited landmarks.
Red pins puncture the surface of the image, clustered across the figure like invisible touchpoints — markers of countless visits, photos, and interruptions. The gesture speaks to the tension between vulnerability and visibility, as the mermaid, once a solitary and melancholic figure, is now relentlessly observed and consumed.
