Pinned Fuji (2024)
This artwork features the iconic Mount Fuji — one of the most photographed and culturally significant landmarks in Japan. As an active volcano and national symbol, Mount Fuji attracts over 100,000 climbers each year, making it the most climbed mountain in the world.
Orange pins are embedded into the surface of the print, serving a dual symbolic role: they metaphorically recall drops of lava flowing down the volcano, while also referencing the act of placing a marker on a map — a gesture of arrival at a site of personal or collective significance.
Shot in Mount Fuji, Japan.
